Post like a boss with these handy social media hints
Brainstorming, posting and liking can take up a lot of your time so I’m sharing a few social media tips that will have you posting like a boss in no time.
I’ve personally lost hours reading, scrolling, posting and trawling Facebook for ideas. And that’s all good if you have the desire and time, which most of us do not. That 24 hour clock ticks faster and faster each day.
All jokes aside, we all have the same amount of time to get our work load done so why does it feel like some people have more than us? Skill and organisation.
In this post, I’ll walk you through 5 social media tips that will help you master your social media pages. Let’t go.

Choose your audience wisely
In business, we use social media as a way to stay up to date on what’s happening, what’s trending and most of all, to connect to our customers and potential customers. So who are these people? To say everyone is a potential customer may be somewhat true, but it’s too broad. You need to narrow in on that one perfect person that you wish was your top client. Make a list of all the qualities your dream client possesses and target your posts to that person.
It’s all good to get “likes” from your friends and family but if they’re not your clients, it’s just fluff. A high number of page likes does not make a successful business. If they share your content and it leads to more eyeballs on you, that’s great. But remember this oldie but goodie: go for quality over quantity.
Create a post calendar
My second tip is to plan, plan, plan. I’m a big planner. I mostly like to plan travel and trips around the world but any kind of planning will do for me. When it comes to business practises, planning is super important. A content calendar is useful for not only knowing what you’ll post and when, but also for tracking goals. Especially if your goals are to keep up with social media. You can even get handy dandy apps that you can schedule to do the posting for you. That’s a great time-saving social tip.
Soft sell
Nobody like a hard sell. We don’t go to social media to buy things. We go there because we want the engagement, the entertainment and the connection with like-minded people. Come up with ways to make your business known without the pushy car salesman tactics. The next tip should prompt some thinking.
Give stuff away
Who doesn’t love a freebie? A great way to draw attention to your business is to give something of value to your target audience. It doesn’t have to be material products or hours of manual labour but something that your people will readily engage with you to get. But of course, nothing is really for free. In exchange for your “gift”, ask people to like your page, comment on a post, share your page with their friends and/or sign-up to your newsletter (whether you have one yet or not). Building a database is paramount in today’s digital business world.
Keep it simple
And the best social media tip? Keep it simple. Don’t get too hung up on perfection, there’s no such thing anyway. Stick to one or two platforms. Get a grip on them, then if you want, move on to one more. Then one more. If you want. I personally would not try to manage more than 3 platforms but if you have the time and the skill, why not?
Good luck with managing your social media.
